چکیده

P. aeruginosa M14808 was screened to produce rhamnolipid with high yield by mutation in a high magneto-gravitational environment. After silica gel columniation chromatogram, the components of the crude biosurfactant extract were analyzed by TLC, FTIR, and ESI-MS. The major components were characterized as rhamnolipids. The rhamnolipids consisted of two main types, monoand di-rhamnolipids. Di-rhamnolipids showed significant anti-proliferative activity against human breast cancer cell line (MCF-7) at a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 1 μg/mL as opposed to a minimum inhibitory concentration of 5 μg/mL against human non-small lung cancer cell line (H460).

Improved Production of Rhamnolipids by a Pseudomonas aeruginosa Mutant

A Pseudomonas aeruginosa mutant derived by random mutagenesis with N-methyl-N¢-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine, producing high levels of the rhamnolipid biosurfactants was selected on Siegmund-Wagner (SW) plates. The mutant designated P. aeruginosa PTCC1637 produces rhamnolipids at concentrations 10 time more than parent strain. NMR analysis and surface tension measurement showed that the biosurfactan...

Stimulation of rhamnolipid biosurfactants production in Pseudomonas aeruginosa AK6U by organosulfur compounds provided as sulfur sources

A Pseudomonas aeruginosa AK6U strain produced rhamnolipid biosurfactants to variable extents when grown on MgSO4 or organosulfur compounds as sulfur sources and glucose as a carbon source. Organosulfur cultures produced much higher biosurfactants amounts compared to the MgSO4 cultures. The surface tension of the growth medium was reduced from 72 mN/m to 54 and 30 mN/m in cultures containing MgS...

Rhamnolipid Biosurfactants Produced by Pseudomonas Species

Surfactants are chemical products widely used in our daily life in toothpaste and other personal hygiene and cosmetic products, and in several industries. Biosurfactants are surfactants of biological origin that can be produced by microorganisms and have many advantages, such as low toxicity and high biodegradability, compared to synthetic counterparts. Unfortunately, high production costs limi...

Chemical characterization and physical and biological activities of rhamnolipids produced by Pseudomonas aeruginosa BN10.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa BN10 isolated from hydrocarbon-polluted soil was found to produce rhamnolipids when cultivated on 2% glycerol, glucose, n-hexadecane, and n-alkanes. The rhamnolipids were partially purified on silica gel columns and their chemical structures elucidated by combination of one- and two-dimensional 1H and 13C NMR techniques and ESI-MS analysis. Eight structural rhamnolipid ho...

Experimental investigations of behaviour of rhamnolipid biosurfactants as a green stabilizer for the biological synthesis of gold nanoparticles

Use of biosurfactants as a green stabilizer for the biological synthesis of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) is now emerging as nontoxic and environmentally acceptable "green chemistry" procedures. Stability of AuNPs at different pHs is very important because our body has different pHs. This paper addresses this issue. In this work, first P. aeruginosa PTCC 13401 was used to produce rhamnolipid biosu...
